The business was started by the Valle brothers from which baking runs deep in this Italian family’s genes. The brothers maternal great-grandfather, Giuseppe Carbonatto, started work at the bakery in Torino (Italy) at age 11. After coming to South Africa and marrying Marianna, he went to open a succession of bakeries, culminating in Roma Bakery in Pretoria. Over the past 13 years the brothers have applied their culinary skills and business acumen to build the Biscotti Biscuits brand. They continue to patiently craft new recipes for high-quality, well-priced biscuits, that contain no added preservatives.
